Denise Sprague ~ Paralegal

Denise graduated, with honours, from the Nova Scotia Community College, Cumberland Campus in 1998 with a Legal Assistant (Paralegal Services) diploma.  She was awarded the Board of Governor's Award, the Cumberland Barrister's Bursary and was Valedictorian.

Denise worked part-time for Terry Farrell prior to graduating and upon graduation she began her full-time position as a Paralegal with Terry.  In this position, Denise worked in many area of law including Family Law, Property Law and Criminal Law.

In March 2003, Terry and Denise merged with Beaton Blaikie and Densie is now mainly working in the area of Property Law with Terry and also does Legal Research for the other lawyers in the firm.  Denise also is Library Clerk for the Cumberland Barristers' Library.

Denise has volunteered in various different organizations such as a coach/manager for basketball, volunteering with the Springhill Institution, at Cumberland Community Alternative Society/Restorative Justice, on the board of the Amherst Minor Basketball Association and as a Sunday School teacher.

Denise takes joy in spending time with her four daughters, Kara, Angela, Jacklyn, and Katie and her partner Cecil.  In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors.

Tammy M. Bragg, Paralegal

Tammy Bragg ~ Paralegal

Tammy is the Personal Injury File Manager and the paralegal/assistant to Mary Ellen Nurse. Her primary function is to assist with the day to day management of Beaton Blaikie Nurse & Farrell's flourishing personal injury practice.  Another component of Tammy's job description at Beaton Blaikie Nurse & Farrell  is to oversee and direct all aspects of firm promotion and advertising.

Tammy holds a Paralegal Diploma (2000) and a Business Administration Certificate (1989) from the Nova Scotia Community College.  She has also attended various workshops and seminars.

In addition, she has sit as a volunteer member on various committees.

In her leisure time, Tammy enjoys quiet time with her husband and children,  and working on her family scrapbook  

Patricia Hofland-Burry, B. A. - Property Paralegal/Bookkeeper

Trisha was born and raised in Sackville, N.B. She has pursued education in Sackville, Quebec, France and Yellowknife. To her credit, Trisha holds a Bachelor's degree from Mount Allison University (major in french) plus various other graduate level courses in finance.

Trisha has been employed in legal offices for fifteen years. She has held various positions, including legal assistant, office manager, paralegal and bookkeeper. Her current employment position at Beaton Blaikie Nurse & Farrell is Property Paralegal/ Bookkeeper. Her volunteer time is spend with various sport organizations and clubs, namely, minor hockey, skating, basketball and lacrosse.

Trisha currently resides in Sackville, N.B. with her husband and their two children. She has also lived in Ste. Foy, Q.C. Strasbourg, France; Yellowknife, N.W.T; and Kamloops, B.C.

Victoria D. Hill, Office Manager / Office Administration

Vicki Hill ~ Office Administration / Office Manager

Victoria joined our firm in September, 1996 as our receptionist. She has since expanded her knowledge and works very closely with all of the lawyers in the firm. On a daily basis, she is the personal assistant to Mary Ellen Nurse. She is primarily responsible for all aspects of the law, but mainly deals with family law, collections and office administration.

In her spare time, Victoria volunteers with the Parent Education Program offered by the Amherst Justice Centre and also as a facilitator with the Restorative Justice Program.

Originally from Richmond Hill, Ontario, she moved to Amherst in 1989. While away from the office, Victoria enjoys reading, walking and spending her time with her husband Gary traveling around in their camper trailer.

Eli MacDonald ~ Legal Assistant

Elizabeth joined the firm in 2000, upon graduation from the Office Information Technology program offered by the Nova Scotia Community College.

Currently, her primary functions include document production and various other administrative duties. She is also the personal assistant to D. Alden Blaikie, Jillian E. Fage and Terry E. Farrell.

Eli's interests include motor cycling, arts & craft painting, computers, and spending time with her parents in New Glasgow, N.S.

Eli resides in Fenwick with her partner, Tim and their cats, Buddy, Mischief, Daisy and Issue.

Lisa Hoeg, Title Searcher / Property Paralegal

Lisa Hoeg ~ Title Searcher / Property Paralegal

Lisa has been with the firm since December of 2003.  She is the firm's title sealegal Diploma from the NSCC in Springhill and later received his BBA in 2002 from Cape Breton University. He continued his education at UNB in Fredericton N.B. before beginning UNB's Faculty of Law in 2003. Jason is entering his third year of law school. His preferred areas of law include corporate and real estate.

Jason has volunteered with many organizations in the past including York/Sunbury Search and Rescue, CCR's Lend a Hand Program and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Jason enjoys cycling, hiking and outdoor activities.
